Setagaya City, Tokyo, Japan｜Nishinba

Having lived across the road for two months, I have become a regular in this popular, very Japanese izakaya. Even though an English menu is available, don't bother, just ask the staff for おすすめ (oh-su-su-meh) sashimi, yaki sakana, tamagoyaki, or yaki niku, or try your best to decipher the handwritten menu (mostly in hiragana). The alcohol list is extensive, and I recommend trying a couple of different nihonshu (日本酒). The food is great and the atmosphere is always very natural and gives the impression this is a must-go place for groups of local friends.

Super down to earth, real izakaya. Good pricing, diverse menu. Get the maguro katsu for sure. Everything fire

Very delicious good. Japanese local place = Japanese menus in japanese (no pictures) but staff is super helpfull. Go there for a great time.
