More Comments at Google MapThis place I passed by a few days ago in Ekoda when I was grocery shopping nearby. It was closed at the time (early afternoon), but it caught my eye because it looked very modern on the interior and exterior. So I went in when they opened later around 16:00. All of the menus were in Japanese but the staff were very enthusiastic and spoke English as they could to help out. I used google translate on the menu and ordered some spicy small fish and chicken kararage. I asked the staff to recommend some sake and he poured me some that he said was the “king of all Japanese sake”. Haha. I don’t remember what it was called, but it was awesome. I should have taken a picture. You could hear the staff really enjoyed and put everything into their work. They had awesome attitudes; I think they hummed some of the songs that were playing as they took care of the customers in a swift and effective manner. I’ll note that the music playing was really cool; smooth J-pop style plus some occasional J-rock, which I really enjoyed. The service was A+. The chicken was a much larger portion than I expected, and it was extremely tender. The spicy fish was seasoned very well and was not too spicy; I enjoyed it. I love the modern style of this place. I went by myself, and there’s a triangular bar area. For groups there are tables. There’s also a regular bar area as well, facing the chefs. Also I should note that they have seating in a separate area in the corner in which had a kotatsu! Granted I’ve only been in Japan for 3 weeks, but I’ve never seen that in an izakaya before. That was really cool. Seems this place is well suited for people dining alone as well as in a group. I must also admit that I was very surprised by the affordable price given how large the portion was! I did not pay much; less than 1800 yen. I live in Sakuradai so I will definitely be coming here again. Even as a foreigner with little Japanese I felt no problems and felt very welcome here. My thanks to the enthusiastic staff for helping and making me feel welcome here! My friend lives in Nerima; I need to invite her the next time!
This place is awesome! The food is delicious, the dishes are pretty unique. Very affordable. I go here often.
