It is a long-established and popular Izakaya in Ikebukuro that has been a favorite of Japanese students and office workers since the Showa period. The quality of the sake, food and drink couple with their service was fantastic. We have stopped by here for twice to enjoy their drinks and good food. Some of their "today specialty" / "catch of the day" was not in their usual menu. So, it was written separately in another paper and you need to request the waiters if they didn't mentioned. During afternoon/ evening time, the waiters might not able to speak English but Japanese. So, you need to point on the menu to the waiters what you want to order. While during night time, they might have foreign part timer waiters who can speak English to assist you the order and special dishes such as: Grilled Maguro Fish Head, Fish Soup etc. The mixed Yakiton (skewered chicken, beef, pork meat & etc.) here was phenomenal. On the surface part of the meat they grilled until it so crunchy and not overcook, inside the meat was so tender, delicious and juicy. Also, you can choose to grilled with pure "salt" or the choice of "tare", a special sauce consisting of mirin, sake, soy sauce, and sugar is used. If you like something raw. Sashimi is recommend here, it is fresh & it melts in your mouth. I totally have no words to said. Nabe (hot pot) also a good choice here, if you like to eat something hot come soup together to warm you up. Besides, there's buffet for "Beer Lover" here for specific time. Overall, the food price here was cheap & there are many seats up stair & down stair as well. So, I think you can almost certainly sit on it unless it's a busy day. “藏元居酒屋 - Seiryu Izakaya” 老字号在东京大约有十几家。目前我们分享的是在池袋这家分行； 藏元居酒屋自从昭和时代以来一直是深受日本学生和上班族的喜爱。 这里的酒，食物和饮料的质量以及他们的服务一直都很棒。 我们已经在这里停留了两次，享用他们的饮料和美味佳肴。 他们的“当日特色菜” 一般都不在他们普通菜单中里头。因此，需要劳请服务员为您介绍。 在中午，您可能会遇到服务员可能“不会说英语，只会说日语”。因此，您可能需要指向菜单点餐。 到了晚上，可能才有兼职的国外服务生会向您解说英语和为您介绍特殊菜肴，例如：烧烤吞拿鱼头，鱼汤等。 这里的日式串烧（鸡肉，牛肉，猪肉等）简直是人间美味。肉的表面部分烤至松脆而不过度烧焦，而里面的肉是如此滑嫩多汁。 如果您喜欢生吃，推荐这里的生鱼片是在好不过，这里的生鱼片非常新鲜并且能在您的口中融化；我完全无话可说。 （小火锅）在这里也是不错的选择，如果您喜欢吃热的东西搭配热汤在凉爽天气暖一暖身。 此外，这里还有提供“啤酒自助餐”。总的来说，这里的食物价格实惠又好吃，楼上和楼下也有很多座位。

Cheap drinks and reasonable price.

It's a good value store and I really like it. Only the 3rd floor is a smoking area. The third floor is always lively with people, so naturally the voices of other customers get louder, so I can't always talk in a normal voice (lol) That's the only downside, I recommend it.
