Shinjuku City, Tokyo, Japan｜博多おでんと自然薯 よかよか堂

This was our first meal in Japan! We arrived late at our hotel and went for a walk looking for food. I was trying to read the name of the restaurant when a young man asked if we were hungry. He opened the door - and voila - we were being shown up some narrow stairs to a loft seating area! Lovely except the ceiling was about 5.5' tall so some of my party had to stoop until seated. The atmosphere, the food, the service - spectacular!!!! It was such a memorable start to our stay in Japan!

The food was excellent but good food can be had at many locations. It was the service staff that really makes this place stand out. We have spent 3 weeks in Japan and have eaten at a wide variety of restaurants. This one was the most memorable because of the fabulous fun we had with the staff and the great food and drinks that we enjoyed. I can highly recommend.
