More Comments at Google MapThis ayu specialty restaurant is located in a quaint bar district, in a back alley just outside the ticket gate on the Tozai Line side of Monzen-Nakacho Station. Although it is called a specialty, it also serves other dishes other than sweetfish, so it can also be used as a regular izakaya. The proprietress runs the restaurant on her own, so you may have to wait sometimes, but she is extremely polite and works quickly, so it doesn't bother you at all. They have an extensive lineup of Japanese sake, and you can order a 4-drink comparison set for a great deal. I learned about this restaurant after watching ``Onna Sakaba Wandering Chronicles,'' and I'm sure there are many people like me (lol).I think it's a good idea to reserve a table before visiting.
A shop that feels like THE Izakaya. There are some counters and tables. The smoked smoke was delicious.
``Ayu no Sato Yamasachi'' is a rare izakaya in Tokyo where you can enjoy sweetfish dishes. You can enjoy a variety of ayu dishes including salt-grilled, as well as Niigata's local cuisine and Japanese sake. The top recommended local sake is ``Ayu Masamune'' from Niigata, and as the name suggests, it goes extremely well with salt-grilled ayu. Of course, the other dishes are also exquisite, and the consumption of sake continues to increase. There are only a few seats and the hostess prepares the food by herself, so it takes a long time to serve, but reservations are possible, so we recommend visiting with plenty of time. There are many regulars, but even if you are visiting for the first time, it is a place where you can relax and feel comfortable.
