Koto City, Tokyo, Japan｜センマイル。

We came across this izakaya on our last night in Tokyo before heading back to Australia. We spoke no Japanese, and the staff very little English. We said we eat anything and so they took us on a food adventure. It was one of the best meals we have ever had! For our final meal, the salad, eggplant, spinach, lotus root, tofu, chicken, sardines and beef were amazing. The 3 sake we tried were wonderful too. Out children were very impressed with the food. I would highly recommend.

Had special meal from chef, as we barely can understand each other. I am still very surprised about very low level of English across the country and especially in big cities.

I visited this curry shop when it was open for lunch. This is a shop that caught my attention when I saw it on my way home from a pork cutlet shop near here. It's located on a narrow road from the main street, but there's a signboard so it's easy to find. I ordered a soup curry set with a large serving of rice and curry. The vegetables came with salad, fried green onions, and potato salad drizzled with homemade chili oil. The salad is crunchy, juicy, and delicious. It might have been better to have a larger salad. The green onions had just the right amount of flavor, and the softness of the inside was well-balanced with the crispness of the outside. The potato salad itself is a little sweet, but the chili oil gives it a nice tangy taste. It's a curry, but it's a slightly sour soup curry that you can easily eat. I ended up eating so much curry that I almost had leftover rice💦 Since it is a one-time operation, the time it takes to provide the product is a bit disappointing. I thought it was a good place to relax and enjoy.
