Great izakayas that locals frequent.

Outside of the center of Asakusa, this area called Kannon-Ura or Oku Asakusa (Deeper Asakusa), they have many good local restaurants where actual local people drink and eat for dinner/ lunch. Yoshoku (Japanese and western fusion food) Izakaya restaurant, New Osho is one of my favourite in that area, the restaurant is running by husband and wife, sometimes their daughter is helping them too. At first look, you feel the restaurant is pretty rough and dirty, not organized. But you will notice that actually it clean up pretty well and it is what all we need. All of the food is really delicious, you won't be disappointed with any food but I highly recommend their deep-fried menus such as Ground Meat Cutlet (Menchi Katsu) and Deep-fried horse mackerel (Aji fry). Eating with beer or whisky soda is my favourite weekend. You may see many kids running in and outside of the restaurant on the weekend, very happy mood and people there are always smiling. The chef is making food on the same location over 40 years, and you can see that history from a restaurant and people there. I am pretty sure they are welcome to English speaker too but please understand restaurant are not designed for English speaker, but I hope you can feel where real Asakusa people eat. - Hokuto

I think that the munch cut here is the most delicious in the world. Even if you eat anything, it is delicious and it is a shop loved by locals. I do not want to become famous, it is a famous shop that I want you to keep silent.
