More Comments at Google MapSashimi, sushi, regular dishes or sake, all the food tasted so fresh and great! Wonderful place, although they don't have an English menu, the chefs and staff were very nice and welcomed us. Btw Google translation did a great job in translating the menu, don't miss it if you are nearby and want to have a drink.
Food is truly amazing. A pitty is allowed to smoke
Since there are no reviews from Koreans, I went there and wrote about it myself. I came across this restaurant after searching on Google and Tabelog to see if there was an izakaya near my accommodation that serves seafood (aji fry, namero, etc.) that are not common in Korea but are often eaten in Japan. The size of the store is about 6 tables, 20 seats in total, plus 2 counter seats. The drinks and menus are reasonably priced, so please check the posted menu photos and Tabelog before going. I ordered Aji Furai (fried horse mackerel), Aji Namero (sashimi minced horse mackerel), Iwashi Kaori Maki (sardine seaweed roll), and Garisaba (mackerel and pickled ginger radish seaweed roll). I didn't order regular fish such as yellowtail, sea bream, salmon, and tuna because they are easy to find in Korea, but since this restaurant sells a lot of blue-backed fish, I ordered all the blue-backed fish menu items. The signature dishes of this restaurant are aji fry and bubble maki. The specialty of this restaurant is that the aji fry is not cooked all the way through, but rather undercooked in the middle. Thanks to this, it melts in your mouth soft and not dry. I was worried that it would be fishy since it is a blue-backed fish, but it was not fishy and was savory and light. I highly recommend ordering one of these from this store. Iwashi Kaori Maki is different from regular Isobe Maki in that the fish is not grilled, and fragrant green vegetables are added instead of chives or green onions. The vegetable flavor wasn't strange and was subtle. It was really delicious, probably because sardines were in season. Garisaba seems to be garisaba (crisp mackerel) because the pickled ginger and sambu inside are crunchy. I ordered it because it was an unusual menu item, but I guess the mackerel was out of season. The taste of the mackerel was weak and the pickles were salty and not that good. Many people are probably familiar with Aji Namero, but I ordered it because I wanted to try it locally. It was good because it was melted without any fishy taste. I drank draft beer, lemon sour, and two recommended sakes. In addition to what I ate above, I think this restaurant's recommended menu items are Bubble Maki (tuna seaweed sushi topped with pickled sea urchin and salmon roe), Anago Shiroyaki (salt-grilled conger eel), Anago pot rice, and sushi. There is no English menu, so search Tabelog and translate the menu to find out. The staff is friendly, so if you can converse, you can ask questions directly. Since it is near Sensoji Temple, there may be no seats available on weekends, so we recommend making a reservation before visiting.
