This is a popular bar located near Minamisenju Station. This is a restaurant that gets mixed reviews because of its slightly quirky proprietress. I arrived just before 6am, right after the store opened. As soon as I entered the store, I was asked twice to ``sterilize with alcohol'' and was seated. I was a little nervous and confused by the sudden guidance 💦 I was the first customer today to order the chuhai, skewered liver, and gizzard from the menu. The atmosphere is awkward, just like the reviews say😅The shochu that came soon after was filled with about half a glass of shochu, and the carbonation was self-serve. I calmly looked at the menu and found that 3 livers cost 300 yen and 3 gizzards cost 200 yen. Although it was a little small, it was well-cooked and delicious. When I asked the proprietress, she said, "They've raised the price even for this." Shitamachi Sakaba is scary😂Most of the menu items are less than 500 yen, excluding eel and tuna. At 300 yen, it's a more reasonable option for just one drink on the way home from work. When I felt a little better, I ordered a second glass of nigori sake and kohada vinegar. The chef behind the counter, Jijira, deftly serves Kohada vinegar while watching TV. I think it was 350 yen, but the presentation was done carefully and the taste was delicious with a light vinegar finish 😋 It immediately became popular 🙆♂️ I got excited by the discussion about ``The Solitary Gourmet'' that was on the TV right in front of me, and had a great time chatting with the proprietress and the owner. The old-fashioned bar with the wide U-shaped counter is really nice. The bill was calculated using an abacus. As expected! As the reviews say, the proprietress' quirks are a point of contention, but I love this bar. This is an izakaya that I would like to come back to again. Thank you for the meal♪
A famous bar that represents Arakawa Ward and is a landmark of Minamisenju. Looking at the reviews, it seems like a scary store that you might go to in Johannesburg, so I was nervous when I entered the store. The original chuhai is smooth and rich and easy to drink (Kinmiya + Kosuisha), and the oolong hai has just the right amount of bitterness and umami and is delicious. This is a rare restaurant where the sake itself is delicious, but the food is also delicious. A downtown liquor store that looks just like the image. The customer base is also homely and good. The stew contains onions, and it's more of a stir-fry with sugar and soy sauce than a stew. This is fine. The bran pickled cucumbers are also covered in Ajinomoto and are delicious. I gave up on taking photos inside the store. It says that they are proud of their tuna, so next time I would like to try tuna, boiled tofu, and eel. On the way home, I left the store with a smile on my face.
