The best Chinese styled ramen noodle I ever tasted. Chinese styled ramen comes with a different type of noodles (a little curlier than Japanese styled noodles). This is a local joint and we decided to visit it after a Ghibli museum trek. Very cozy with only about 10-12 seats. The service is friendly though no English is spoken. We don’t speak Japanese but we made it just fine. We picked the two most popular ones based on the vending machine though we didn’t know what they were until we got them. The 900Y one comes with 3 pieces of meat and the soup is probably miso based. The 950Y one comes with extra boiled egg. The 600Y one comes only with one piece of meat but the soup broth is tastier than the first one. The 650Y comes with boiled egg. Both ramens are delicious and the portion is HUGE so come hungry! If you do a Ghibli museum or happen to be in the area, give this place a try. You can eat at an Ichiran ramen at a different location in Japan Instead.

・ I went to “Hope Ken Honpo” in Kichijoji for the first time in a while. Established in 1935 (Showa 10), this long-established restaurant is the founder of backfat pork bone soy sauce ramen, the founder of Tokyo's backfat chacha style ramen, and the pioneer of Tokyo pork bone soy sauce ramen. I ordered Chinese noodles (750 yen) + raw egg (50 yen), hard, dark, and extra. The addictive soup is still super delicious 😆 The medium-thick curly noodles that cling to the soup have a nostalgic taste that tastes like dry noodles. I felt like it was less than before, so I ordered a replacement ball (100 yen). When I looked at the ticket vending machine again, there was a large size free button... The amount of noodles seems to have changed, the regular size is 150g, and the large size is 200g😅 Thank you for the meal.
