Suginami City, Tokyo, Japan｜Taishōken Eifukuchō

Apparently the place has been running for decades and you can see why. The taste is different to any other kind of ramen and, despite having a strong flavor, it doesn’t get heavy. However, be very prepared: it is probably the largest bowl of ramen I’ve had in Japan (and there isn’t any ōmori option). The pork was smoky and I ordered additional menma that was good too. My only suggestion is to try to get there before 12, where the wait could be less than ten minutes. After that it can extend to up to 30 minutes.

Old/classic style niboshi ramen. Be ready to eat a lot of noodles!
