More Comments at Google MapOne of our last meals in Tokyo, but this place served the best ramen I've had up to date. We ordered their Shio Ramen (most popular). The broth was rich, creamy, and well balanced. I found the fish, tastes like anchovy, that they added to the broth really brings the dish together. It adds a level of complexity and deepens the umami . The noodle was cooked to just the right firmness.
Stopped in here for a late dinner after one of the longest travel days of my life. My son loves ramen and was very excited to have "the real thing" while in Tokyo. I first learned of this establishment while watching a documentary on ramen in Tokyo and to my surprise it's literally 150 feet from our lodging. You order from a vending machine and no money charges hands with other humans. Insert your money, press the corresponding buttons and out comes a ticket. The staff will take your tickets and seat you. I ordered their specialty, tonkotsu ramen and a small draft beer. The draft was certainly small. However the ramen was a good portion. The pork bone broth was creamy and full of flavor. The noodles were just right with that nice amount of "chew." It came with two nice pieces of fatty chashu, bamboo shoots, some type of fungus or mushroom that was really tasty and a heaping spoonful of thinly sliced green onion (negi). All the flavors blended well and as I slurped my noodles and spooned up the tasty broth, I had to stop and pinch myself that I was actually eating a bowl of ramen in the worlds largest city. The staff was very friendly and spoke a little English. They helped me navigate the ticket machine. Highly recommended.
Walked through the quiet streets of Shibuya with occasional adult shops and love hotels to find this ramen shop. It was my first experience in a ramen shop and dealing with a self ordering machine and it was pleasant! The food and experience was what I expected and it was great. Would go again!
