Shinjuku City, Tokyo, Japan｜Ramen Nagi - Shinjuku Golden-gai Betsukan

Now this place … this is it!! My first meal when I landed in Tokyo. Was craving some ramen and searched up what was nearby. Ramen nagi has a few locations. They all seem to be hole-in-the-wall establishments. Equipped with the unique vending machine style order format, it was a fun way to start our food adventure. But I have to say - this was one of the best bowls of ramen I’ve had. First spoon of that deep anchovy broth - almost brought me to tears. The noodles are obviously made in house and have a lovely bounce and chew. The meat was expertly done. I’m sad I only went once. Would travel to Japan again just to have another bowl here

This lives up to the hype!! Second location, queue is short. I waited 10 minutes here vs the other location in golden gai which was 1.5 hours. The fish broth was so good. A lot of flavor and thick!

The first ramen that we’ve had while arriving in Tokyo. The broth was fantastic, with a touch of smoke and richness from the niboshi. Thick and perfectly cooked noodles. Extremely satisfying bowl of ramen in the heart of Shinjuku. Perhaps the best bowl of ramen while tracking between Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.
