Chiyoda City, Tokyo, Japan｜Aoshima Syokudo Akihabara

A nondescript ramen shop in the middle of deserted alleyways on Sunday. Found the place by chance as we were exploring Akihabara area after purchasing some electronics stuff at Yodobashi-Akiba mall. Saw the crowd and wondered what the fuss was about. We ended up waiting in line for approx. 1.5 hours. We were the only foreigners, and nobody in the shop spoke English, so it was all down to hand-signs. It’s individual dining and you take any vacated seat (only 9 in total) at the counter when your turn comes. You sit down, get served your order, eat and then leave to vacate your seat for the next person waiting in line. We ended up sitting 5 places away from each other 😁 The texture of the ramen is springy and chewy, just the way I like it. Ordered their special, with a generous portion of chashu. The soup is clear and flavourful, of the soy-based kind. Very delicious 😋. Worth the wait, in my honest opinion.

Yummy ramen! There were around 30-40 people waiting in front of me but as restaurant is quite efficient I didn’t have to wait too long. It was worth! I waited around 1 hour. They also offer Wi-Fi :). I think there are less people on weekdays and not in golden week. However, it always has to be waited. I was the only foreigner and Ramen was indeed delicious:). There are 2 different ones and then 2 sizes each. In addition you can choose toppings. Highly recommended!

一蘭ラーメンより美味しい (More delicious than Ichiran Ramen) Maybe I have low standards, but this is one of the best ramen store around Akihabara area, since the area around this store are pub and bars. the price for shoyu ramen is between 800 yen to 950 yen, which you can choose to add more chashu or have a bigger serving.
