Kyoto, Japan｜Hana no Mai Hatago Chaya Ikedaya

For what's worth this is a decent ikazaya even if you ignore the historical factors: food is decent with reasonable price, except the soba noodles which is kinda lame...perhaps because we got it in a course menu. Then there is the historical factor which imo is great for anyone interested in that part of history. They have quite a few ester eggs related!

Incredible experience. We were 20 people and they were able to seat and serve us very efficiently. The food was very tasty and flavorful. The all you can drink options were a great hot with our group! Definitely get the tonkatsu. It's the best I've ever had!

Everything was wonderful! We were afraid they did away with their Hakuouki collaboration, but everything is there, including the Hakuouki themed menu and merch! The staff kindly let us take pictures of the Shinsengumi decor. Just a note, some dishes may seem vegetarian, but included meat (such as a dish that said it was potatoes and said nothing about there being pieces of ham). Be sure to double check with the staff what is meat free before you order if you are vegetarian.
