Insanely good food, we came here having no idea what it would serve and speaking no Japanese. Picked the first dish on the menu which was delicious - highly recommend!

This was a lovely discovery. A locals izakaya style restaurant. Small, but staff and regulars gave a very warm reception. Food was delicious , their speciality was smoked food, which you have to try. The more traditional food was also delicious eg sashimi, Japanese omelette were amazing. Cost for what we had was good and by Kyoto standards not expensive. If you come to Kyoto and want a local, quality izakaya experience come here.
