Kyoto, Japan｜Kurakura

Came as family of 4 in mid June. Made reservation through our hotel. Amazing food. Great selection although many were sold out when we got there (late dinner at 20:45), but the ones that we managed to get were all really delicious! We ordered 15 different types of dishes (Grill menu #6 is the same as #14), but this was probably our fave of the night, we had 2 orders of this. Owner was friendly. Will def return to this place if we ever come again to Kyoto. Have even recommended this place to a friend who is heading to Kyoto next month.

You can believe the hype. This place is as good as the comments make it look. Not only is it frequented by locals, with staff that speak good enough English, but you get to see a master at work and sample some of the best izakaya food I’ve ever tasted. Get there very early (6pm tops) or you’ll see a line out the door. Even then, I’d say wait because it’ll be totally worth it. Each dish was perfectly prepared and incredibly fresh, and they have an ample sake selection.

We stay in japan for 1 week and this is the best food we had. Super friendly owner and delicious food. The owner explained each food to us as foreigners we love this place.
