Kyoto, Japan｜Kushimatsu

We had a fantastic meal here, one of our best so far in Japan! They have an English menu which was helpful, and each dish was super fresh and flavorful! We ordered a la cart items and enjoyed watching everything made fresh to order while sitting at the bar. My faves were the eggplant and the agedashi tofu. The tofu was so creamy and soft, but lightly crispy on there outside. The eggplant had a nice char from grilling, and the miso is sweet with a bit of tang. The yam dish is actually grilled Japanese mountain yam which was super delicious as well!

The food was very good and the owner was very nice. The signs out front all all Japanese only but there is an English menu available. The eggplant and tofu options were especially good.

Tempura fish was so good. Incredible restaraunt. This should be on everyone's hit list!
