Kyoto, Japan｜Yakitori Tsujiya

Best Yakitori experience I have had in Japan so far. We had a party of 4 on a Thursday night and showed up at 6:30 with no reservation, we did not think we were going to get in. To our surprise, we put our names down on a list and returned an hour later and were seated upstairs right away. The staff and service was wonderful and efficient. We tried many different things on the menu that you can see in the photos, but our favorites were the chicken thighs with green onions, cold tofu with green onions, and the chicken meat balls. Most of the other dishes were amazing as well and we even tried some new things like the oden that were very different but tasty. Everything was cooked perfectly. Extremely fair price as well, we spent less than $20 per person and were full and satisfied. I highly recommend trying this place as it has great value. Try to make a reservation before coming though, as the line gets long quick

Super friendly staff. Great atmosphere and great food. The open kitchen is clean and you can see they grilled the meat, very instagrammable 🤣 The skewers are a must try! Oden is juicy and perfect as well. Every dishes is good!! Highly recommend this place to spent the night in Kyoto. Just order a sake and enjoy the food!

Glad we found this place in our recent trip to Kyoto. Showed up without reservation and the staff managed to squeeze us into a 45mins slot between bookings. Food was great. Especially the fried chicken. The assorted skewers, grilled onigiri and Kyoto toufu were excellent too. Staff was apologetic for the time when we're leaving even though it wasn't his fault to begin with. Highly recommended.
