Such a memorable and special dinner. The chef was so kind and made a special effort to explain the dishes to us in English. We had two glasses of local sake and 7 courses he recommended for $100. The only other diners were from Tokyo and they said they have been regulars for 10 years. All vegetables and seafood, and every course was unique and delicious. Only one group of foreigners is accepted each night, so walk in, and if he turnes you away ask if you can come back tomorrow or the next night, and apologize and say Michele, the synchronized swimmer from Portland sent you :)

The best experience so far. Only vegetables and seafood items. Menu hand written and change every single day with reasonable price. Must try hot sake and tempura (hand prep and cooking right in front of you). If you don’t know what to order, say “omakase” means chef’s choice. We asked 7 courses and it was about $100 usd

We found this through the internet and had a great night. The owner is the chef, the waiter, the cleaner and the barman. He does it all. The experience is loads of fun, helped on by the fact that he didn’t speak English (or very little) and we didn’t speak Japanese! Lots of laughter was enjoyed by all. Small place. Only seats 10. But something different which is what we look for when we travel.
