Great find, being just round the corner of our hotel. Very friendly staff and patient with taking orders and explaining dishes that we are not familiar with. Good selection of Sake and food choices. Menu changes every week depending on what local ingredients are available.

Good to enjoy Sake and tasty meals. We ordered scallops and grapefruits marinated by miso sauce and vinegar, it was really good to eat with alcohol. If you ask about Sake, they could tell you information and let us taste it before ordering. Renovated traditional Machiya is designed very beautiful, I totally recommend this place for your night in Kyoto.

Impeccable service and great food, quite possibly our favourite izakaya of the trip! Loved the ambiance, the interior and the fireplace. The building itself sets a nostalgic tone and I couldn’t think of a better place to enjoy premium sake in Kyoto.
