Kyoto, Japan｜Kamanza

Food is really good. There is a long line but this restaurant is worth the wait. They serve really good authentic Kyoto cuisine. The staff are really nice. Quality of food is good and worth the price. Highly recommend this place.

This place was great! We had some standard things kerage, fried chicken skins, deep fried chicken skewers and it was the best we’ve had in Kyoto. Lots of choices on the menu. I’m not much of an adventure eater and ordered gratin chili tofu because I love chili and just wanted to try something new. Wow! This dish was good enough that I never need to eat meat again…ever! It was a special of the day and I had a second order. Really enjoyed our meal and we’ll definitely go back before we leave. Reasonable prices, good portions. English menu but doesn’t list everything available. Probably a good idea to book, relatively small place completely full at 7:00.

Highly recommended! We had a great time in Kamanza! This is a small restaurant that makes unreal family style Izakaya. Unlike a lot restaurants in Kyoto that overcharged tourists, this restaurant is local and serves amazing authentic dishes with very reasonable prices. We had a great time in Kyoto and Kamanza made our journey even better. Also the staff were so nice and helpful. We didn’t realize we lost our jacket in the restaurant until we left Japan. However, the staff was very responsive and actively helped us coordinate the logistics of mailing the jacket. Cannot thank Kamanza enough and really look forward to dinning there again!
