Went for three days in a row! A very friendly small shop that seems to be run by a family of four. There is only one person in the store who can speak English, and the menu is only in Japanese. But the service is super good! All dishes are great! ! highly recommended!

Super sweet and hospitable staff, made every effort possible to make us feel welcome and even gave us an umbrella when we left and it was drizzling. Only japanese menu but they explain most of it well enough, and everything tasted great!

This a small and cosy Japanese Izakaya restaurant which you could walk passed easily. Old and young Kioto’ers sit side by side on the long bar. There is a four seater and two two seaters if you need more space. When we entered we were lucky there was a spot. We did not make a reservation but would recommend it! The food is delicious and you can add flavor to your own taste (in stead of sometimes too salty Japanese food). The eggplant in ginger soup was amazing! We had 5 dishes, rice and shared one big beer and paid ¥ 5.200. More than enough to fill your stomach. It felt like we were in an small Japanese town instead of touristic Kioto, a nice change. All in all a great evening!
