Wonderful Izakaya experience! Food was very delicious! The owner made me feel welcome at once. Great variety of sake. The owner speaks English and was very helpful. The place has a great atmosphere. I recommend it highly!

This place is great. The menus are in Japanese and hand written so you will have a bit of trouble ordering if you don't speak or read Japanese. Our phones didn't do very good translating the menus either because the menus are hand written and include lots of names for alcohol which has very descriptive names which don't make sense to the translation engine. The owner was very helpful and friendly after we muddled our way through ordering some sashimi and sake and beer. One of the customers there was also very helpful and pointed out some of the things on the menu for us as well. The space itself is great; very intimate with books and a few tables and a great selection of sake. We loved the sashimi and yakitori and left afterwards to go for a short walk along the river and it's just beautiful there. We did feel a little like we were intruding in a neighbourhood spot and tried to be as polite and gentle as possible. They don't seem to be expecting foreign tourists, and don't speak a lot of English, so it's a little challenging, but very worth it.
