Osaka, Japan｜Kitashinchi Tayutayu

We were sceptical with the menu when we got here but we ended up with the best dinner experience in this little diner! Very authentic Japanese (Osaka Izakaya style) restaurant. The menu has quite a bit of pig’s part which is not something my Aussie husband and kids are to. But the family ended up very happy with the meat balls offering on the menu including the rice ball. The owner/boss does the grilling to perfection! Come here for an authentic Osaka Izakaya experience. Highly recommended. The SAKE IS THE BEST HERE!

We stayed at ANA Crowne Plaza which is just opposite Tayutayu. There is no lack of dining options around Kita-Shinchi but many require reservation thus not very tourist-friendly. We walked in and Tayutayu happened to have available seats by the counter. We thought it was yakitori but turned out to be yakiton. No issues as the food turned out to be very delectable. English menu is available and staff can speak a bit of English. Very friendly and hospitable.

This place was an awesome find. My wife and walked in and it is full of local business men and women. They staff were very helpful and found us a spot (10min wait, but could see it being 30-40min if you came around 6-630). The atmosphere was great as it was busy and we got to watch our food being cooked. One of our most memorable meals. English menu was provided and the staff spoke some English which made ordering a non issue. Get the lamb and the salad.
