Sashimi salad was super fresh
I went to Nara station for the first time in a while. As usual, I wandered around looking for lunch. We went to an atmospheric Japanese restaurant on Naramachi Odori Street, about a 10-minute walk from JR Nara Station. It's located on the opposite side of Sanjo-dori Street, where there are many shops, so it's a hidden gem with very little foot traffic. Lunch seems to be mainly sushi and udon, I ordered the 7 roll nigiri set meal for 1000 yen with udon. Udon noodles topped with oil cake for +200. It was 1,000 yen, so I waited for a while wondering if mini udon would come with the usual 7 rolls of nigiri... The quality of sushi exceeds your imagination. If you include egg sushi, it will be 8 rolls. The toppings are luxurious and can be described as fresh fish. The freshly grilled eel is fluffy and exquisite. The udon noodles are not mini, but a full serving size, and the soup stock has a deep flavor. The quality was more than 2,000 yen, which you can't go wrong with if you eat it in Osaka. After all, the farther away from the downtown areas there are, the more famous hidden restaurants you can find where you can enjoy high-quality food at a great value.
