Went here on a whim with a friend at 10pm on a weeknight. We tried the taster menu and got a few drinks as well. The courses were varied. Fresh and diverse, we enjoyed the range of veggie and fish offerings. The quality is obvious. The waitress spoke English and the service was great. Would definitely come here again.

Good English menu available and the waitress spoke English well and explained items for us and told us the types of fish etc. Surprisingly there are quiet a few vegetarian options (salads, omlette, tempura vegetables). Dishes are small so order at least 3 per person.

This was no longer a meal, but rather a "growth". The exquisitely sweet and salty Saikyo-yaki, the sashimi served with charcoal salt, and more are experiences that will not only thrill your sense of taste, but your whole body's tactile senses. Yes, this was an experience. It is a stimulus that appeals to the five senses more overwhelmingly than any of the shrines and temples in the town of Kyoto that I visited for sightseeing. It's unbearable that Google's review form only has five stars, and I can't help but feel that way.
