Kyoto, Japan｜Kassai

By far one of my favorite dining experiences in Japan. All the dishes were incredible and the chef/staff were very helpful and hospitable in making the best selections.

Had a great time chatting with the chef and various patrons at the establishment. I went in for their omakase menu and some of the offerings genuinely surprised me. Chef Takayuki mentioned he felt his English was rusty after the travel restrictions, so please give him more opportunities to practice~

Had our first meal this trip to Kyoto at Kassai 月彩. Their meal sets although a tad pricey is well worth it. They had outdoor seating at a balcony 納涼床 along Takase River 鴨川. Food was great, temperature was comfortable with a slight breeze, atmosphere was relaxing, and service was absolutely amazing, as always in Japan!
