Kyoto, Japan｜Men-ya Inoichi

All rounder. I am a ramen fan, and this restaurant ranks up there as one of my favourites. Rich but not too overpowering broth (which is not salty), fragrant aroma, springy noodles that wouldn’t turn soggy while I was wolfing down the pork don, which deserves another review on its own with oomph from the mix of rice, soy sauce and egg, topped with generous helping of Kyoto pork. Total waiting time for me was slightly over two hours but it was well worth the wait. Glad to have made the trip here. Umami!

Absolutely incredible!!!! Wagyu ramen (black soy) is unbelievable. Both the gohan with Wagyu and with tofu & scallops are delicious. Also highly recommend the dumplings. Make sure to get there super early to be able to get a spot. If you get there at 5:15 pm you will probably get a spot at around 7:30-8 pm. The staff will give you a time slot once the restaurant opens at 5:30 pm so you don't have to wait in the queue.

My husband and I absolutely love this place! We arrived 30 minutes before opening, and after they opened, they allocated our time slot and instructed us to return an hour later. The wait was short when we came back. We ordered a pork ramen, a wagyu ramen, and a pork rice bowl with yolk. The broth is exceptional! neither overly thick nor salty. With the aroma of stockfish and spring onions, it's just perfect. The wagyu and pork in the ramen is incredibly fresh and delicious, and the ramen is perfectly done. As for the rice bowl, the pork cubes are exceptionally thick and taste heavenly with the yolk. I highly recommend all these dishes! When you visit, please please consider ordering them! they are definitely worth the queue and the wait. Oh my goodness, I'm salivating again just writing this review! the best ramen in Kyoto!
