More Comments at Google MapIf you like tonkotsu ramen then you are going to find Hakata Ikkousha (located on the tenth floor of Kyoto Ramen Koji) to be a real treat. Hakata ramen hails from Fukuoka on Kyushu Island but it is readily available across Japan. Enjoy the rich pork bone base as you slurp up the noodles; a meal to remember.
In Kyoto Station, there are all kinds of ramen shops in the ramen alley, which is dazzling. In the end, we chose the small shop "Ikkosha" for the simple reason that there were the most people queuing here. There is an automated ordering machine in front of the store. After ordering and paying, we queued for about half an hour before it was our turn. The ramen here will be sprinkled with green onions. If you don't like green onions, remember to inform the waiter first, otherwise you will have to spend some time to clean the green onions. The soup of this ramen is rich, flavorful and thick. You can also choose the texture of noodles that you like. This was our first time and we both chose "soft". Even so, the noodles are still QQ and full of texture. One word: "cool".
Best Tonkotsu ramen I've had so far. Thick and flavourful broth. Love it! The portion is big too. Even though we had to queue 20 mins, there are stools to sit on and it's worth the wait.
