Glad I found it. Service is fast and they have English speaking staff which helps. Mostly frequented by locals and that must be because the food is so tasty and hearty. Feels like a hug in a bowl. First ramen in Japan and the bar has been set high. Also free ohcha and it is self-service

It was my first time trying chicken ramen, and it turned out to be one of the best Ramen I have ever had. The chicken is so tender, and the broth is out of my mind. You can taste the premium ingredients and attention paid to the Ramen. We also tried the tsukemen; it's also the best we have ever had! It's mind-blowingly good, and it's a must-visit spot in Kyoto. The servers are very helpful too; they would explain the English menu, make sure you were getting what you wanted, and also teach you the traditional way of eating ramen. It’s been hard finding ramen in Japan that doesn’t have a pork based broth but here they use chicken broth and when we said we didn’t eat pork they put delicious tender pieces of chicken on top of the ramen. We also appreciated the help got when ordering our meals - the chef helped us order on the vending machine. We also ordered some delicious special dipping noodles along with the ramen. All in all the food was tasty and the service great! Recommended.
