Believe the hype! I chose the Ramen Zero with the spicy scallions and seasoned egg. It was the best ramen I’ve had in Japan. Chonmage is now my new Ramen Mecca. There was a queue of about 10 people around noon on a Monday, but it moved much quicker than I thought it would, and the boss lady brought us ice water because it was quite hot today. I lost track of how long I waited, but I think it was less than 15 minutes. I love how enthusiastic the kitchen staff are when they vocally welcome and thank patrons! They do amazing work. The egg fried rice was so fluffy and flavorful! I thought I would have to pack it into my empty water thermos, but somehow I found room in my stomach. 😂😋

Made popular on YouTube and Japanese TV. This place is easy to find (about 7-8 min walk) when you get off the train station and follow the map. We had the ramen and the fried rice and gyoza. The ramen soup was not the oily and flavourful type, unlike other famous Japanese ramen shops. It was light but surprisingly good. The main highlight of the meal was the egg fried rice. It was the best fried rice I’ve ever eaten and this shop should seriously consider doing just fried rice instead. Great experience and we met the Instagram star as well who was prepping the store and taking orders. She no longer cooks but supervises so you’ll be able to grab a selfie with her.

One of the best ramen I had. It was light but very flavorful. I ordered the ramen zero which was their original shio ramen.
