Our best Nara experience. Hole in a wall drinking spot, but serving very tasty food all cooked by the one and only chef-owner behind the bar. Takuto-san loves his food and drinks, and makes his utmost effort to perfect every dish that he is able to whip up for his customers. I really admire this dedication! I feel honored to have the opportunity to have a night of eating and drinking at Kore Kara. P.s order a pasta dish. We had the uni butter pasta dish, and this was the bomb. It was so good I completely forgot about taking a picture of it. Order it, you won't regret. Thank you for the fun night.

The Hostess was GREAT!!! She spoke some English and was so friendly and gave recommendations on what to try. The Chef was amazing. The food was so simple but delicious. I WILL visit again!

This place is FANTASTIC!! If you are in Nara, you need to come here. The people who own the place are just the nicest, most wonderful people and they have some great food and drink, too!! We were looking for somewhere to go that wasn’t a tourist trap, but it was late and things close early here on the weekends, so we were worried about finding anything. We stumbled into a small alley where we saw some lights on, and looked into the places open. The woman who owns Kore Kara came out to ask if we wanted to come in (her English is excellent). Because they serve Japanese fusion, and we were looking for more straight-up Japanese food, we said no and told her what we were looking for. Unlike any Westerner who would have left us then and there, she took the time to walk us just a few doors down to an izakaya that said “reservation required” and asked the owner if we could come in! We were so grateful to her after our meal there, we went back to Kore Kara for a drink and another snack. It was a great decision!! Great food, drinks, conversation, music- everything! In fact, the chef and waitress from the izakaya came in when they closed and ate there! Ended up closing the place down and going out for drinks with the owners afterwards. One of the best nights we’ve had in Japan!
