Just walked in, no booking. Friendly staff who gave us the menu in English, a towel to wipe our hands and a glass of water, after explaining the izakaya cover charge. We asked for some sake recommendations from the staff based on our likes (richness) and were given some fantastic sake. The food was good quality and service attentive.

One of favorite restaurant experiences. The settings and vibe is really cozy and warm while looking upscale. Every menu item I tried was really fresh, well made, and specialized. This feels like a family own restaurant where a lot of thought is put into each dish. Although I could not speak Japanese well, the chef and waiter was really kind and patient with me using google translate to order and ask questions. The price was really reasonable for the quality of food. I think this total with a drink came out to $30 USA. I highly recommend this place.
