Osaka, Japan｜Ramen Pepe

This is a wonderful hole in the wall that we found when we couldn't find the ramen place our hotel suggested. The signage is not in English and the owner didn't speak English well, but other patrons helped us along. She has two ramen broth choices: salt or soy. We both chose soy and the owner made it to order. The soy broth delicious. On the table as some condiments and fresh eggs to crack into your soup if you want (I did). One of the best ramen places we've visited. As an American, you'll love her Mexican themed space and homage American music from the 30s to the 60s. Great spot!

Really cool little gem of a ramen place, hidden away on the second floor. The host had limited English and us limited Japanese, so we just pointed at a picture of a dish on Google Maps and it was in front of us three minutes later. We went for the salt ramen, and it was really nicely balanced.

Tried the shoyu ramen. Loved the light but sweet, flavourful broth. Better taste and value than some of the other Michelin-hyped ramen joints i have had experienced. Rustic and home-cooked ramen at its best. Thumbs up 😋👍🏻
