Causeway Bay, Hong Kong｜Tian Shan Dining Room

Quite a special experience. You can tell it's very popular as it's packed with locals and there's this familiar ambiance of people chatting above each other's voice which was interrupted by shoutings from the boss. It specialises in Xinjiang cuisine and we ordered a few lamb dishes. All the dishes were delicious and I enjoyed the lamb dumpling the most. The filling was super juicy and packed with loads of flavours. I would love come back here with friends and family.

Everything was super tasty and had an air of quality to the ingredients and care in the preparation. The service was excellent and especially great to see staff of diverse backgrounds. The proprietor is a force of nature. I marvelled at watching her mastery of multitasking. Super switched on. There were also dishes from other regions but I mainly had Xinjiang cuisine on my visit. I'm looking forward to trying other items on my next visit as I suspect anything coming out of that kitchen will be of a high standard. The restaurant was busy but not overcrowded and had a nice buzz/vibe.

Food quality is really good for the reasonable price. Tried lunch sets today. The signature lamb ribs with rice is a rare found in HK, smells distinctively, and the rice absorbs the sauce from the lamb probably that's why it's so flavorful - definitely not plain rice. The lamb quality is high too and made well in Chinese traditional style! The steamed chicken and takashi mushroom rice wrapped in lotus leaf was nice, be sure to add their aromatic and super flavorful chili sauce, so nice!!! Will revisit!!
