More Comments at Google MapTai Ping Koon is a famous Hong Kong institution founded in 1860. The restaurant serves Hong Kong style western cuisine. Traveller's Tips: 1. There are several outlets of this restaurant but the Causeway Bay one is the easiest to get to and generally will have a table without too much of a wait. 2. It is pricier than the more causal Hong Kong cafes, but the uniqueness and quality of the dishes is worth it. 3. If you go during the afternoon tea session, you can get some of the dishes at a lower price (smaller portions) so you can choose this option to sample more of their food. I recommend the baked pork chop rice (unique in that they use a bit of port wine to achieve the rich colour, aroma and taste) and their hot plate steak (we chose the Scotch fillet with pepper sauce which is tender, rich and strong in flavour). Their menu highlights their signature dishes so you can try their recommendations. Their souffle, stir fried beef noodles and roast pigeon are famous. I have been going here since I was a child and will continue to do so. Definitely recommend.
Excellent service, wonderful food (curry, pigeon, chicken rice,etc) , always full house , suggest booking in advance if available.
My first time dining at this restaurant. Absolutely beautiful and definitely felt I had gone back in time 😍. Staff were friendly. My friend and I sat and chatted for around 2.5 hours, and were never once chased to go! We ordered the fried beef noodle and the famous soufflé. Loved them!
