You come here not for service but just for the dessert ! The price is cheap compared to other stores and the service is quick. They would want u to order together if you are a group. The place clearly displayed a sign saying no photos are allowed but in Chinese only. Limited choice but taste good.

221020 - Fun story and funny service. Me: “Brisket only” (淨牛腩) please. Man: Out of stock already. Me: (I still see a lot). So only “brisket noodle” is available? Man: Yes. “brisket only” is 26 両, we don’t have that many now. If you can stay for 30 mins, I can boil for you. Me: Err, then just order 2 “Brisket noodles” without noodles please (兩個牛腩麵走底) Man: Sorry, we don’t sell “Brisket noodles without noodles” (走底). Brisket itself has no value so we don’t sell it (I actually think the noodles contain no values). Me: Then 1 brisket noodle please. I found this horrible attitude lovely. 220905: Food quality for many small stores will drop when they get famous. This store keeps the same taste for almost 20 years. Perhaps the place (and service) is too horrible so it won’t get too popular. Anyway, this kind of taste will be gone in HK soon. It will then become a 回憶的香港。

Authentic street side stall experience at very reasonable prices. I discovered this stall by chance as in was waiting for some friends for a drink in 2009. It is run by a middle aged couple who squabbles every now and then. Being a street side food fan, I couldn't resist ordering from the dubious looking stall located precariously on a 40 degrees angled slope. In my mind I was thinking, "even if the food wasn't good, the ambience would be priceless". I didn't know that they were actually famous for their seaweed green bean, vanilla green bean, glutinous rice ball with coconut & sugar and other traditional Chinese desserts (most served hot or cold)! When the beef noodles was served, the bowl looked small. However the portion of beef is generous for a big eater like me. I would say it is good for an adult and surprisingly big for the price. The beef is always tender, likely after hours of cooking. The soup tasty and the chilli sauce a rarity in Hong Kong. Interestingly, there used to be a small restaurant selling beef noodles directly opposite this stall. I never got to try them out as I really fell in love with this stall outside. It's almost like when you're in a serious relationship, you don't date anyone else 😂 (yes, It's that good)! Here's a gossip about this stall... A friend of mine told me that this stall used to be from the family-run shop at the building directly opposite it. They left the shop to set up the street side stall after some family dispute. Sometimes you can still see them carrying trays of beef from the same building where the shop is located. From the fact that they had to exit from the proper shop to set up a street side stall suggests that they lost in the power struggle of the family shop. Then things took an interesting twist - some time last year, if I remember correctly (in 2017), the shop closed down! Now the shutters of the shop are down but the small street side stall is still doing well. By the way, as with most street side stalls that you don't frequent regularly, don't expect any good service. It is definitely worth a visit.
