To Kwa Wan, Hong Kong｜Kai Hey Dessert

They serve traditional Cantonese desserts, hot and cold variety...black sesame soup, walnut soup, almond soup, steamed egg custard, glutinous rice balls in ginger soup (a signature dish), etc. Everything is very reasonably priced and is made from old recipes and basic ingredients. The taste is just like when i was a kid. The sweetness is just right. The shop owner is also very nice. I am glad that more tarditional variety is served here since many popular dessert stores now focus on taiwanese pearls type mix (撈) that contains a lot of sugar syrup and are sugar bombs. The shop stays open until 12am (that's midnight) for those who work late.

Nice ginger & sweet potato soup base for the glutinous sesame rice balls! Very affordable too!
