Sai Wan Ho, Hong Kong｜Hop Sze Restaurant

One of the local crowd favourite located in Shau Kei Wan. We booked 6mths in advance as reservations were difficult to make. The ground floor area was rather small but there is another level upstairs. We ordered their standard menu and added on the signature pork chop baked rice. Food was really very good with many nods of approval from friends at the table. My personal favourite dishes are the Fried pigeon, the mixed stir fry and Crab with rice and Pork Chop baked rice. Saw a lot of patrons bringing their own alcohol so do check if it’s BYOB. Coming back for more!

Managed to make a lunch reservation two weeks prior. Heard it’s easier to get a lunch reservation than dinner. Their famous pork chop rice was good but not sure if it’s worth the price tag. Shrimp toast was generous in size. Each dish was done right but I wouldn’t expect myself to have a sudden craving to come back soon. Quite pricey as well let’s be honest.

We managed to get a table here when a friend of ours couldn’t make it and gave us the booking. Highlights: Fried crab with cheung fun Prawn toast Tea smoked chicken Steamed ma yau fish in Shaoxing wine While the pork chop rice was good, I didn’t find it that special, I’d probably skip it next time.
