More Comments at Google MapThis was by far the best “Unagi*” I’ve had in my 25 years in Japan. I had a course menu and each course included a bit of unagi*. All were very tasty and the main serving of unagi* -don was spectacular! I would love to go back again sometime soon. *unagi is eel in English
Since the hot days continue, my wife's parents treated me to something that will give me energy. You can make a reservation on Saturdays and Sundays, but it is only on the 2nd floor and you have to wait in line for the 1st floor. I have relatives who are a little handicapped, so I decided not to go upstairs and go early to get in line. When lining up, it seems that one representative should be lined up, and there is a space where you can wait inside the store. In the first place, it was said in advance that it would take about 30 minutes to provide the food, so the line-up time was long. The store opens at 11:00 in the morning, so I arrived about 40 minutes before and took number 1. Cars were parked one after another in the parking lot 10 minutes before the store opened, and it was full at the same time as the store opened. It's a popular store. It was my son's first time eating eel, so I thought that he might not be able to eat it, so I decided to eat it half and half with my wife. At first, the clerk told me that the pheasant-ju was served earlier than the eel-ju, so I agreed, but since it was served together with the eel-ju, the store was more considerate. I think. I appreciate this kind of thoughtfulness. In addition to unaju, chawanmushi, pickles, clear soup, and desserts are served. Since there is not much sauce on the Unaju, we were told that the Unaju sauce was also served later and that it was served according to individual preference. The eel was thick, very soft and very delicious. It seems that my wife's worries ended up being groundless because my son was also eating greedily. I also got a little pheasant weight. It had no fat and was elastic, and it tasted different from chicken and was delicious. It's especially good when it's charred. If you want to put your energy into it, it's definitely recommended, but I think it's better to make a reservation in advance or line up before the store opens. Thank you for the meal.
It's a bit pricey, so I went there with my family for my birthday. It's about a 5 minute walk from the station. From the entrance, you are right on the water, giving it a very calming feel. There were only private rooms, and it looked like they would be used for memorial services. I had the recommended eel kettle, and it was eaten like hitsumabushi, so I was able to enjoy it till the end. The eel and rice were quite large and I was satisfied. Wild eel is quite expensive, but I would like to try it someday.
