I really have a special place in my heart for these types of places. They are real Japanese as you'll get. There is none of the touristy flash or the anime flair here. It's a elderly couple serving you great food while neighborhood people sit down, talk, and watch TV. It's not for everyone and probably not for every foreigner. However, I'm a fan.

It was a fantastic meal having just arrived in Japan from Canada. We sat down with friends that live near by and had a nice warm meal before heading to bed. I got the ramen with onions and it was lovely. Very flavourful! So good. Thank you!
