Very rich and balanced soup. We stopped by this place on our walk to Ghibli Museum. We are happy about it.

great old style ramen

A ramen shop with a Showa-era atmosphere that I had wanted to visit at least once since it was featured on TV. We arrived right after the store opened on weekdays, and the nine counter seats were already full, with three people lined up in front of the store. I waited about 10 minutes to be seated, probably due to the fast turnover. Since it was my first time, I ordered Gomoku Char Siu Wonton Noodles to get the full taste. It was topped with chewy medium-thick noodles that at first glance looked like Japanese soba noodles, wonton skins, bite-sized chashu pork, bamboo shoots (menma), naruto, boiled eggs, bean sprouts, and green peppers. All the soups had a gentle flavor and were delicious. With so many ingredients, 1,000 yen is a bargain, and the owner and two female employees are bright and energetic, and their customer service is also very impressive. When I finished paying and left the store, there was a long line of more than 15 people, as one would expect from a long-established store. It was a feast.
