Shibuya City, Tokyo, Japan｜Chao Thai Shibuya Dogenzaka

Been here a handful of times and it's easily one of my favorite Thai spots in Tokyo. There's almost never a wait, although I don't understand why because the food is amazingly authentic and they actually use jasmine rice. If you live in Japan, you know how big of a deal this is. I've been to countless restaurants that are way pricier, and they serve their Thai curries with Japanese rice. In my opinion, that totally changed the dish, and not for the better. Anyway the service is friendly and efficient, and the prices are amazing. Today I had egg curry powder with chicken and it was fabulous. The lunch set came with that, soup, a vermicelli salad as well as a green salad, and a coconut milk jelly dessert. It was 1200 yen. I would highly recommend this place.

I came here twice for the beef noodles. Sure enough, the second time you eat it, it will be much less amazing.

Worth it. I have tried all the thai restaurants in the area as I live close by. The lunch set here is totally worth the price. Green curry tasted great. You get a small portion of desert, soup and salad. The extra order of roasted coconut water was refreshing too.
