Hachioji, Tokyo, Japan｜Yayoiken

This is another place recommended by hotel staff. I went there twice for breakfast on my last visit, and learned a few things. It's basically an automat where the only interaction with staff is when they bring your order, or when they clean. You order and pay up front, and serve yourself beverages and extra helpings of rice. There was a dashi beverage option, which was a nice touch and nice, mellow music to help you wake up in the morning.

My second home. Great value for meals. Infinite refills of rice, dashi soup, green tea, and water. I recommend the Miso Katsu.
