First visit to Daikichi along Setagaya Street. Although it was noon on a weekday, the place quickly filled up. I ordered the daily lunch special black vinegar pork for 990 yen. Comes with salad, pickles, gyoza (2 pieces), soup, and rice! Is this a good deal? ? It seems that you can refill the rice only once. Black vinegar sweet and sour pork is a (smaller) pork wrapped in thick batter. This is by no means a negative thing; the batter has a crunchy texture and is delicious. It also contains cabbage that has been soaked in oil, which goes well with the bean paste and makes the rice go well. The other menu items seem to be quite filling, but at around 1000 yen, it's no wonder that lunch is so popular.
