More Comments at Google MapThis is a quaint little udon shop run by a nice couple with excellent food. The udon is freshly made. The cold udon is very tasty and refreshing on a hot summer day.
I visited after 1pm. All the restaurants along Ome Kaido are crowded at this time of day, and you may have to wait outside, but this restaurant, located 2-3 minutes down a narrow alley from the main street, is more spacious inside than it looks from the outside. We had a relaxing time without being crowded. When I ordered the signature stewed udon set meal, it was served in about 10 minutes. It's a set meal that comes with miso stewed udon and rice, but it's lighter than Nagoya-style miso stewed udon, which has a firm texture. Still, it had a lot of ingredients, and although it had a gentle flavor, it went perfectly with the rice. The staff are kind and courteous, making this a great place to enjoy a quiet and leisurely meal on weekday lunchtimes, which tend to be busy.
It was a rainy day in June and it was a little chilly, so I had a stewed udon set meal. It's a delicious taste that hasn't changed since the old days, and it's a taste that is safe!
