I love both Harukiya Honten and Harukiya (Ogikubo Honten). Apparently they are relatives. Both are Japanese-style dried sardines, but the taste of the restaurant and the menu are different. I like both and have been to both many times. Haruki: There is a difference between ``ie'' and ``ya.'' They are also friendly to children (early elementary school students), and they kindly watch over you until you finish eating. The store is clean. Harukiya Honten has a snack menu that you can enjoy while drinking, so I'd like to come here for a drink someday! It seems that some regulars also have shochu bottles. In other words, it's a restaurant where you can feel that the kindness of the staff is an element of the deliciousness. In addition to Chinese soba, we also have Japanese soba. I eat it often and it's delicious. Yesterday, I received Tanmen. Thank you for the meal! I'll come back later!
How many people know that Ogikubo has two long-established ramen shops called Harukiya? By far the most famous is Ogikubo Chinese Soba Harukiya, located in front of the station, but lately I've been visiting Harukiya Honten, which is about 10 minutes away. Although the two companies are related, they are managed independently, and there used to be a gyoza shop called Harukiya. Harukiya Honten was founded in 1930 and is apparently the oldest existing ramen shop in Tokyo. The menu is different, and in addition to ramen, you can also enjoy Japanese soba, tempura, rice bowls, and curry. While it's fun to snack on soba noodles, we recommend the Chinese noodles. The combination of clear soy sauce soup, thin curly noodles, triangular seaweed, menma, and thickly sliced chashu is truly a classic. Add some boiled eggs and it's perfect. It's a wonderful restaurant that is loved by the local elderly, so if you're interested in the roots of Ogikubo ramen, be sure to visit and compare the taste with Harukiya's.
