The soup is very rich and delicious, stew chicken is a bit light but I believe it should taste like this. My favorite is the fried tofu. You can only pay in cash and you cannot order more food anymore after 8:15 pm The waiter and waitress speak very few English but very kind and patient. We basically don’t need to take care of the stew. It’s very hot to eat chanko nabe in summer but they have AC so it’s fine.

Perfect meal after sumo. Chanko nabe is the traditional hot pot meal that sumo wrestlers often eat. This place is the oldest and arguably best chanko nabe restaurant. Reservations are only accepted for parties of 4 or more; otherwise, tables / the counter seats are filled on a walk-in basis. The staff including the owner are incredibly friendly and have an English menu. The yakitori was grilled to order, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor. The chanko nabe is cooked in a dish in front of you. The ingredients are simple but fresh. The broth is delicious. Looking forward to coming back. Cash only.
