Pasta Set Lunch 🍝🥖🥗🍧 @persorriso_jibi Per Sorriso is a cozy Italian bistro located 15 mins walk North of Mitaka station. The atmosphere is casual and warm, epitomized by the super-friendly and welcoming personalities of the owner chef Jibiki-san and restaurant manager Ogasawara-san 😊🙌🏼 For lunch I went for the Pasta Set - salad + mini appetizer, baguette, pasta (3 choices) & a drink or mini dessert. 🥗🥖🍝☕️🍧 Soon after ordering, I heard the sizzling of grilled meat. I was a little bit puzzled, but the mystery was solved when the salad arrived at my table - it was huge & the volume was almost big enough to justify it as a main dish! 😲🍽 The salad was packed with seasonal fare such as baby leaves, cherry tomatoes, pumpkin, lotus root, purple cauliflower, fig, paprika, pear & prosciutto ham. 🥬🍅🎃🥦🫑🍐🐷 On the side was an appetizer of octopus & root vegetables. What made this salad so delicious though, was the confit of chicken wings & chicken bits which sat on top of all the other greens. 🍗🍳 The meat on the chicken wings were so soft & tender, they easily fell away from the bone after applying just a tiny bit of pressure with my knife & fork. 🍴 The umami of the meat, when combined with the other parts of the salad ensured that each bite was flavorful & different until the end. I can confidently say that this is one of the best lunch salads (i.e. not the main dish) I have ever had! 😋🥇💯 The pasta was a peperoncino garlic & oil dish with baby scallops & Kyoto spring onion (kujonegi). The spaghetti was cooked perfectly al dente, & the spring onion was surprisingly thick and juicy, pairing well with the firm scallops. Although it is a simple recipe, the flavors were deep & the sauce was so good, I wanted to ask for another chunk of baguette so that I could mop it all up. 🍝🥫🥖 Dessert was a small yuzu sherbet, a perfect way to refresh the palate & finish off a lovely, satisfying meal. Next time I visit, the dinner menu has many items that I want to try. 🍧🤤 If you are in the Mitaka area looking for a quality Italian meal with great hospitality, Per Sorriso is 100% recommended! 🇮🇹👍🏼

Per Sorriso is a hidden treasure. I went with my wife for lunch in a weekend, we had theIr course menu. There was an incredible variety of vegetables for the salad. However, the main dish was very delicious: grilled pork with gobo sauce and vegetables. I am looking forward to visit Per Sorriso again. (It is a great place for a date)

Beautiful Italian food Mitaka. This is probably the best European food I have had in Japan. Great flavors and diverse options. We will go there again soon.
